Studio G has entered Boston Latin School's Green Roof Project for the 2011 Holcim Award!
BLS is grooming future environmental problem-solvers through its student organization, Youth Climate Action Network, which conceived the green roof as a measure for BLS to shrink its carbon footprint and educate students about sustainability.
The project transforms an unused school roof into a resource for local food, renewable energy and enriching educational opportunities with greenhouse, gardens, labs and classrooms. As the oldest public school in the US, BLS models sustainable principles and will share the process in the Boston school system, Youth CAN network and nationwide.
